Worst Oil Spill in History?

This is not a phrase to be taken lightly. We clearly do not have control over this spill. At this point I don’t want to focus on who to blame. The focus and energy should be spent on getting this potentially catastrophic oil spill under control. I can’t even think about the damage it’s already done. It sounds like there are steps being taken, none successful, so now it’s just flailing around trying anything. People on the coast trying to get floating barriers up hoping to save whatever they can from the oil. The thought of wildlife and aquatic life covered in oil is so upsetting I can’t stand it. The impact this is having is detrimental and unacceptable. Has anyone heard of how we can help? Animal rescue crews or anything?

Obama and Oil Spill Silence

Strangely, not much came up. (more…)

And the Oil Gushes…

We’ve gone from being told there was no leak, to a 10 mile by 10 mile spread, and now we’re at 1,800 square miles and counting. Forty-two thousand gallons a day of oil is now spilling into the ocean. The word “gushing” was used to describe the oil leak in several articles. The word gushing and oil are not good in the same sentence unless you are the Beverly Hillbillies. (more…)

Dear President Obama…

I hope you have seen the photos of that beautiful burning offshore oil rig that burned for two days and then sank into the Gulf of Mexico.  Maybe people missed this.  Here, let me show you. (more…)
